Hello,my wife and I are long term carers of a little girl who is 11 and we have cared for her since she was 2 years old. We have court orders for her to stay in our care until she is 18. We are loving parents and have a great relationship with birth families. But sadly my wife and I have agreed to separate for personal reasons. We plan to still care and love this little girl unconditionally but we are terrified of losing her if we separate. Will this affect her placement even if we have a plan to still both be in her life.

    Hi Clint,
I’m sorry to hear about your separation. You need to speak to your caseworker asap. It should not endanger your foster daughter’s placement, but your Agency will want to make sure that she is supported through this process, and that any new house she will be staying in is safe and appropriate.
    All the best,
