CatholicCare Hunter-Manning Social Services
CatholicCare Hunter-Manning (formally Centacare Newcastle) is the mission and outreach agency of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Our Foster Care Program provides care for children and young people aged 0 to 18 years of age who are unable to live at home with their parents because of a family crisis, parents experiencing difficulties in caring for their children, or there is risk of harm to children.
Every child deserves a loving, caring home and we need you to ensure children in the Hunter get just that. You can help shape the future of a child in the Hunter by providing respite, short or long-term foster care.
There’s nothing more rewarding than being a foster carer. We have information evenings held every month where you can come along to find out first hand just how rewarding it can be.
You don’t have to be Catholic. You can be married or single - because when it comes to fostering it’s all about the children.
Regional area
Upper and Lower Hunter
Types of care provided
Respite care, short term care (typically 6-9 months) and long-term care (usually until the child/young person is independent, usually 18 years of age).
Fostering individuals and families can make choices about the age and gender of the children they wish to care for.
We have a need for families available to care for groups of brothers and sisters, and for carers available to provide pre-adoptive care to babies. There are special provisions for these types of care.
